Jacquelyn M. Burke, Mark A. Fox, Andrés E. Goeta, Andrew K. Hughes and Todd B. Marder

The single-crystal X-ray structure of {[HPPh3]+}2[B410O2]2– 2 reveals trigonal planar oxygen atoms in a rare example of a B2O2 ring; extended Hückel and ab initio molecular orbital calculations provide insight into the bonding and the geometry about oxygen.
